The Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering (ICME) is an interdisciplinary research and teaching institute and is part of the School of Engineering. Computational mathematics is at the heart of many engineering and science disciplines and has grown into a strong and exciting interdisciplinary field. ICME-affiliated faculty and students conduct groundbreaking research, provide consulting services, and teach over 60 courses in computational mathematics and scientific computing at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
ICME seeks a Program Manager, Affiliates and Career Services to administer the institute's partnership activities as well as its professional development initiatives for students. ICME partners with corporations, national laboratories, NGOs and other professional organizations through a variety of interventions designed to improve student outcomes. The Program Manager is responsible for the development and execution of activities to increase visibility and awareness of ICME to prospective students, external corporations, government institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and professional groups.
The Coordinator also supports the long-term success of ICME degree programs through instructional support, career-focused upskilling, event planning, and initiating operational process improvements.
Your responsibilities include:
Independently manage the ongoing activities of ICME's collaboration ecosystem, most notably the Educational Affiliates Program
Manage affiliate membership contributions and gifts, as well as financial and logistical communications with affiliate and non-affiliate collaborators.
Represent ICME to internal and external stakeholders.
Play a critical role in event organization and execution, from concept through completion.
Contribute to outreach activities, both inside and outside the university.
Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program.
Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for the program.
Organize, participate, and/or lead "Career Education" and outreach activities for ICME students
Prepare programming to help students maximize their career outcomes, as well as placement-related initiatives to prepare students to attain and succeed in internships and permanent positions.
Create and maintain productive relationships with HR departments at organizations that employ ICME graduates.
Assist ICME faculty and staff with research seminars and experiential learning activities.
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives
In collaboration with ICME and University stakeholders, identify, plan and contribute to process improvement initiatives as they come up.
May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff.

Education & Experience (Required):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

Education & Experience (Desired):
Five or more years of progressive administrative experience in a corporate or university setting.
Familiarity with academic-industry partnerships, in particular as they relate to data science, analytics or engineering education.
Proven record of managing and completing complex projects, especially with multiple simultaneous workflows.
Experience handling sensitive business relationships.
High level of comfort with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Authentic customer orientation and exemplary interpersonal skills.
Demonstrable competence in using business software and productivity applications.
Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.

Pay Range: The expected pay range for this position is $66,100 to $107,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
