Events and Facilities Coordinator 8175BR Golisano Institute for Sustainability CIMS Administration & Support
Detailed Job Description Oversee the day-to-day facilities management of the Golisano Institute for Sustainability and the Center for Integrated Manufacturing Studies, including repairs and maintenance, Lenel swipe access and some safety coordination. Manage all CIMS conference room activities throughout the year; coordinating and overseeing all events and acting as the liaison for external and internal users.
Main responsibilities:
Coordinate all activities within the CIMS conference center - 9 rooms, 1200 annual events, building access, develop and implement all room needs related to technology, equipment and set up, student hiring, scheduling and supervision
Act as liaison with FMS and various contractors - coordinate and schedule all facilities repairs and upgrades
Maintain inventory control of supplies and equipment
Maintain swipe access to all appropriate bays, labs and office areas
Coordinate fire drills, fire extinguisher and sprinkler inspections
Miscellaneous other duties as assigned
Department/College Description The Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) is a leading sustainability research and education organization at Rochester Institute of Technology. Our six industry-facing applied research centers focus on sustainable manufacturing, energy, transportation, and buildings. They work to develop advanced technologies, sustainable industrial processes and practices, and data-informed policy recommendations. Each year, about 100+ companies, governments, and other organizations engage GISs research centers on a variety of projects to solve technical problems, innovate products or processes, research manufacturing technologies, reduce their environmental footprint, or commercialize a new technology. Research center projects are led by full-time professional staff with significant industry experience.
Minimum Qualifications Education/Experience:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience
5 years' experience overseeing facilities
2+ years' experience working in matrix structure to accomplish goals/objectives
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal / customer interaction
Strong organizational and follow up skills
