The Systems Specialist will serve as an active member of a service oriented, dynamic, and student centered team. The Systems Specialist will maintain financial aid information systems which include PowerFaids, Department of Education communication systems (EdConnect, NSLDS, COD) and interfaces Slate and Workday; assist with reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional funds (PELL, SEOG, FWS); process correction and payment files; assist with the development and processing of departmental exception, discrepancy, and reconciliation reports as well as workflows; serve as primary contact for systems security with LTS; assist with electronic communications for the department; responsible for monitoring and assisting in the processing of financial aid applications. This role will also assist the Associate Director with maintaining and testing SFS systems and databases.
Primary Position Responsibilities
Maintain financial aid information systems which include PowerFaids, NetPartner and Workday as well as integrations with Department of Education communication systems (EdConnect, NSLDS, COD), Slate and College Board.
Manage the awarding and disbursement of Federal Pell funds including regular reconciliation.
Responsible for financial aid application workflow, through loading application materials, running application reports, and ensuring data integrity
Assist with the reconciliation of federal, state and institutional funds (such as PELL, SEOG, Direct Loans)
Assist with ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations in regards to the delivery of financial aid funds by processing, and assisting with the development of, departmental exception, discrepancy, and reconciliation reports.
Serve as the department liaison with Library and Technology Services for the departments financial aid related software and hardware needs
Education Required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in higher education and/or one of the areas that comprises Student Financial Services (financial aid, student accounts/tuition payment, student employment, educational financing) or related field.
Experience with a wide variety of software and database applications, such as PowerFaids, Workday, Google, and Microsoft Office
Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to work independently, but to also contribute positively to a team approach.
Demonstrated experience in providing superior service and excellent written communication skills.

Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Position approved for flexible work schedule, including up to 3 days per week remote.
