The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Western Kentucky University is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity. SEAS is home to nine undergraduate programs and two graduate programs (www.wku.edu/seas). The school is committed to producing graduates who are well prepared for the start of productive, successful careers in a wide spectrum of programs.
We are seeking to fill an Engineering Technician starting approximately August 1, 2023. The new hire must have the ability to support student projects and laboratory experiences.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Project and Laboratory Support
Fabricate print circuit boards
Manage the SEAS Innovation Lab
Manage project spaces
Perform industrial equipment maintenance, repairs, and modifications
Manage inventory (order equipment, consumables, material, first aid items and tooling)
Provide assistance and machining guidance for students
Assists professors in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences with jobs and projects related to their classes
Safety Enforcement
Maintain and improve all safety procedures and practices
Manage safety training sessions for incoming engineering students
Supervise students while working in labs
Maintain first aid training to provide assistance in the event of an accident

Job Requirements:
Associate of Applied Science or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance or relevant industry expertise in engineering or manufacturing;
Ability to work on a team and multitask; and
Willingness to attend training in support of print circuit board creation and/or industrial machine maintenance.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
