The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives & Leadership will be responsible for identifying and managing issues emerging within collegiate athletics. These responsibilities will include working to manage the strategic planning initiatives of the department; managing the adherence to University policies & procedures; and working closely with other campus functions, including human resources, legal affairs, Title IX, DEI and student code of conduct.
Job Duties: ? Will serve as a member of the executive team reporting directly to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and will assist in providing overall strategic direction for the department including the implementation of the department's strategic plan. ? This position will identify departmental risks and create proactive measures and solutions to address those risks through governance and control arrangements (e.g., department handbook, student-athlete handbook, etc.). ? Serve as the department's primary administrative liaison with human resources, and coordinate all aspects of department position searches and personnel activities. Specifically, will create a strong onboarding process for departmental staff and work closely with human resources on develop strong performance evaluations and personnel growth opportunities. ? Will serve as the Athletics Deputy Title IX officer and has responsibility for athletics EADA reporting. ? Manages the department's grievance process and serves as liaison with the office of legal affairs and the office of the student code of conduct. ? Implement comprehensive leadership program for coaches, administrators and programs that includes programming that supports leadership and personal development. Facilitates collaboration with the student-athlete enrichment staff to support educational goals and key stakeholders, in the area of leadership development, across the Bucknell community ? Develop and coordinate all athletics-related diversity and inclusion efforts as the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) to a variety of areas that may touch race, gender, LGBTQ, studentathletes with disabilities, international student-athletes and other matters. ? Supervise assigned varsity sport programs that may include women's basketball, and provides leadership for coaches and staff, working towards team and departmental goals. ? Potential to be the Senior Administrator (depending on the selected candidate) in representing the university on Patriot League governance committees (i.e, Committee on Athletics Administration, Sports Management Committee,).
Supervisory Assignments: Assigned sports supervision Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree - Five (5) years of experience in athletic administration or comparable experience as it relates to the duties of the position - Ability to manage and support intercollegiate varsity athletics programs - Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as the demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple assignments effectively - Solid written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills - Demonstrated experience in successfully working with collegiate coaches, university/athletics administrative and support staff, and student-athletes - Knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA rules compliance - Proficient computer skills including but not limited to e-mail correspondence, word-processing, and the ability to learn new technologies Work Type: This is a full-time, year round, benefits eligible position.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
Salary Range: This is a Staff Exempt position with a hiring range of $70,500 - 88,125 (E11); $77,900-97,375. The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
