Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Development Specialist II for the Douglass Residential College. The Development Specialist II provides high-level support and program implementation for alumnae engagement and fundraising. This position will staff the Douglass Advisory Board, manage numerous events and strategize and manage donor stewardship.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Staffs the Advisory Board, which involves extensive scheduling, correspondence and communications, as well as quarterly hybrid in-person/virtual meetings for the full Board and numerous Committee meetings throughout the year.
Responsible for event planning and execution for one annual traditional event that attracts hundreds of students and alumnae and for Homecoming. It will also include serving as a logistics partner for the alumnae invitations and attendance management portion of numerous student and College events. This will include some or all of the following: invitations, registration, coordination with Communications, correspondence, venue and catering, floral orders, purchase orders, seating, budgeting, maintenance of records and coordination day-of and follow-up.
Strategizes and manages the execution of stewardship efforts for and to donors, in particular those classified as major donors to Douglass, and for all scholarship gifts.
Conducts simple prospect and related research, creates and distributes reports, briefings, and lists, schedules and/or confirms meetings for the Associate Dean and advancement staff related to alumnae/donor relations or development, manages calendars, including invitations and conflicts, drafts and sends communications once approved on behalf of the Associate Dean and advancement staff, and assists with stewardship and engagement activities for alumnae and donors.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Two years relevant experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of Advancement, organization, coordination, facilitation and/or reporting principles and practices.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MailChimp and event management software.
Familiarity with Rutgers systems (AWA, ABI, Etc) and/or SalesForce is a plus.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn customized software and database management, including ABI, Signals, SalesForce, Cornerstone, etc.
