Overview: This senior legal leadership position will report to the Auto Club’s VP of Legal Affairs and will play an instrumental role in the strategic vision and implementation of modernizing the Auto Club’s Claims Legal department; the role will manage the Managing Attorneys of each of the in-house claims’ legal offices throughout the Auto Club Enterprises (“ACE”) national footprint. This role will also oversee the strategy, performance, and future expansion of the Claims Legal department, as well as work towards maintaining/building a strong and positive relationship with the Claims organization.

Experience: 15+ years of relevant legal experience required in insurance defense litigation. Preferred experience as an internal Managing Attorney with a property and casualty insurance carrier. Prior management experience required, particularly leadership skills and the ability to build and execute a strategy, as well as talent development, people management, claims relationship management, intra and inter-departmental communication, and deep understanding of California insurance claims litigation and players. First-chair trial experience required. Demonstrated claims litigation leadership experience as in-house counsel highly preferred.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
Location: Costa Mesa, CA. This is not a remote role; extensive in-office presence required.

Bar: Candidate must be a member of the California State Bar.
