What you’ll be doing...
You will be part of the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) team, a growing group focused on reporting and stakeholder engagement related to Verizon’s environmental and social data. You will be responsible for collaborating with the team in developing and executing the ESG investor engagement program. The primary operating objective of this program is to educate and update investors and analysts about the company as it relates to ESG matters. The culture is collaborative, humble and adaptable.

- Collect, analyze, and present to management relevant information on ESG investors, including proxy voting guidelines, news releases, issue-specific research, and investor bios in advance of engagements.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and compelling stakeholder engagement program to communicate the company’s ESG strategy, activities and accomplishments to investors and analysts. Oversee the production of presentation materials for various stakeholder engagements.
- Manage the Company's participation in ESG-specific investor events across all communications mediums.
- Manage the ESG investor engagement process, including direct communications with internal and external stakeholders, scheduling, meeting preparation and follow-up documentation.
- Lead the company’s responses to third-party evaluators, rating and ranking organizations including ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, Vigeo Eiris, the World Benchmarking Alliance and the UN Global Compact.
- Stay up-to-date with reporting frameworks and standards, as well as rating agency expectations; identify gaps between stakeholder expectations and company reporting.
- Effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders related to inquiries and requests for ESG information; collaborate with colleagues/subject matter experts to obtain relevant information.
- Partner with the Communications team to facilitate ESG-related campaigns.

You'll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in the investment community, investor relations, ESG ratings agencies or proxy advisors.
- Project management experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Experience in the telecommunications industry
- A high degree of analytical capability with the proven ability to structure a business case around a high-level strategic vision
- A proven ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations.
- Great attention to detail and ability to analyze data, leveraging information to provide clear, concise and supported recommendations for action
- Strong presentation and collaboration skills and an ability to engage with stakeholders at any level in the business
- Experience with non-financial reporting (i.e., environmental or human capital metrics)
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and recommendations (i.e., SASB, TCFD)
- Experience with ESG ratings and rankings including MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, Vigeo Eiris and the World Benchmarking Alliance. Familiarity with ESG ratings and rankings portals
- Knowledge of the UN Global Compact’s reporting requirements
- Proficiency in G-Suite and Microsoft Office
