The Communications and Employer Relations Coordinator, Office of Career Services, focuses on timely, transparent and user-friendly communication of opportunities and events to Cardozo students and graduates. This role will also manage communications, marketing and data with respect to legal employers throughout the New York City region and beyond. The Communications and Employer Relations Coordinator's primary responsibilities will be to identify, track and communicate with employers, including law firms, corporations, government agencies and non-profits. The Communications and Employer Relations Coordinator will continually update the OCS staff and students on the legal marketplace.
The Communications and Employer Relations Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Employer Outreach to strategically plan research into, and outreach to, legal employers and help identify new relationships. This role will work with the entire Career Services team to provide market information to counselors and students and provide feedback from hiring employers.
Data management of private and public organizations and contacts that hire law students and law school graduates, with a focus on roles that require or prefer a JD
Track and record information on legal employers to make it accessible to the Career Services staff and Cardozo student body
Systematize outreach to employers and potential employers to help maintain employer relationships and increase opportunities for Cardozo students
Systematize outreach to students to promote and organize the wealth of opportunities available to the Cardozo community, from internships to post-graduate jobs to events
Experience & Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree and experience or interest in communications or marketing strongly preferred
Legal experience preferred, interest in legal marketplace required
Skills & Competencies:
Clear, accurate and animated communication style
Ability to use technology and innovation to track results and manage data
Strong interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; strong phone skills; willingness to initiate contact to form new relationships
Demonstrated interest in the legal marketplace and hiring trends.
