The Director of UCSF Health Procurement Contracting is a key member of the UCSF Health Procurement Services Department.
This is a senior-level position responsible for providing leadership in Contract Administration, ensuring that Procurement contracts follow UC Contracting Policy, as well as State and Federal laws. This position is responsible for leading collaborative efforts with other subject matter experts, including Legal Affairs/OGC, Privacy and Compliance, Risk Management, IT Security, and HR/Labor Relations; and works with all UCSF Campus contracting offices, including Campus Procurement, Office of Sponsored Research's contracting groups - Government & Business Contracts, Industry Contracts, etc.
This individual will work with UCSF Senior Leadership, Internal Audit & Advisory Services, to develop, implement and manage compliance policies and procedures relating to internal controls, UCOP (University of California Office of the President), and UC Health contract policies and industry standards for Health Procurement contracts related to health care organizations.
This position oversees several different types of contracts, including, but not limited to: UCSF Health Affiliation agreements, Professional Services, Personal Services, Software/Cloud, SaaS, General Maintenance, Consignment, Permanent Placement agreements, Participation agreements, Data Security, MSAs (Master Service Agreements), BAAs (Business Associate Agreements), etc.
This position serves on several committees, including but not limited to the Procurement Services Leadership Committee, UC Health Leadership Team, Data Security Task Force, and Export Control Task Force, and collaborates with the Office of Healthcare Compliance and Privacy on their initiatives.
Provides strategic guidance in setting policies and procedures related to function or program. Provides broad guidance and policy advice to department management and senior leadership regarding aspects of contract administration, and receives guidance as required from the Office of General Counsel.
Ensures contract administration includes a review of potential risk, consequences of policies and legislation, and adherence to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, and policies. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of a department, division, or organization.
This person also manages, and is the Contract Administrator, for the contracting system/database that is built on the Salesforce Platform. In this role, this person leads the continuous development of the system with annual enhancements and upgrades of the System, in turn, trains new and existing users of the System, as needed.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
