Executive Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs
Intercollegiate Athletics
The Executive Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs (EAAD Internal Affairs) provides strategic leadership of internal operational units and administration areas for Omaha Athletics. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor / Director of Athletics, the EAAD Internal Affairs is responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio including fiscal strategies and business functions, human resources, risk management, travel management, equipment, contract management and sport administration. This position will oversee campus partnerships, while serving as the liaison with General Counsel and a member of Athletics cabinet and senior staff.
Leadership and Management:
- Manage working relationship / partnership with the Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.
- Manage working relationship / partnership with the Office of Business and Finance.
- Manage working relationship / partnership with the Office of Human Resources.
- Manage working relationship / partnership with the Office of Risk Management.
- Management of Finance & Business, Human Resources and Equipment business units.
Strategy and Planning:
- Oversight of fiscal, human resources, travel management, equipment management operations and functions.
- Macro oversight of contract management and strategies.
- Oversight of risk management functions including insurance logistics and audits.
- Macro oversight of sport administration operations and strategies surrounding NCAA Division I membership.
- Oversight of internal resource management including fiscal and personnel allocation, logistics and strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required.
- 6-10 years related work experience in athletic administration.
- 8-10 years related work experience in internal operations including, but not limited to, finance & business, human resources, risk management, legal affairs, and sport administration.
- Significant personnel and program management experience required.
- Experience in higher education and an understanding how Athletic Departments run in a university setting preferred.
- Ability to travel nationally for athletics events and constituent meetings.
- Familiarity with common industry management databases including accounting, finance, contract, and NCAA reporting specific software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of higher education policies and procedures pertaining to procurement and fiscal matters.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA, NCHC and Summit League guidelines, policies, rules and regulations preferred.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and quickly summarize complex and detailed information.
- Ability to maintain and develop relationships with executives, board members, student-athletes, external constituents and University community.
- Significant experience managing crisis situations.
- Appreciation and understanding of the University of Nebraska mission and the ability to effectively communicate it.
Salary Information: $115,000-$140,000/year
