Manages the day-to-day operations of the Legal Affairs Office, provide senior level administrative support to the Vice Chancellor Vice President of Legal Affairs/General Counsel and oversee the coordination and communication efforts with outside counsel.
- Direct the daily administrative operations of the Legal Affairs office; to include processing legal documents
- Oversees the coordination and communication efforts of outside counsel to include the contracted law firms, the Texas Attorney General's Office, and Federal Lobbying firm.
- Manages office support staff and student workers, assigns work schedules and assignments.
- Acts as liaison to the VC/VP and the Office of General Counsel (OGC), coordinates logistics and agendas for VC/VP's meetings and travel.
- Manage all administrative activities and projects generated by the VC/VP for Board of Regents initiatives.
- Responsible for the administering the quarterly Bordereau reports and claims to the State Office of Risk Management.
- Oversee the coordination of training for the Office of General Counsel concerning critical legal changes and new regulations for the Office of General Counsel, Equal Opportunity Services, Human Resources, Internal Audit and UH System campuses.
- Participates in special projects and committees on behalf of the OGC.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
