Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP is seeking an associate with 2-6 years of experience to work with its Securities and Business Development Companies team within the Capital Markets & Investments practice group in the New York, NY or Washington, DC offices. We are looking to add a team member with experience in investment regulation and structuring matters.
We cultivate exceptional attorneys across all levels by providing them with the tools and experiences needed to build successful careers! The associate will join a supportive practice that counsels various industry leading companies and management teams. Additionally, the associate will have extensive interaction with a variety of clients, while the team advises business development companies (BDCs), registered closed-end funds and interval funds on regulatory and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, public and private offerings, and ongoing regulatory compliance with the federal securities laws.
We are seeking candidates who possess:
- Two to six years of law firm or SEC experience.
- Skills and knowledge related to a broad range of transactional, regulatory, and corporate governance matters, including under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Investment Company Act of 1940.
- Specific understanding of investment funds structured as business development companies (BDCs) would be valued.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Strong academic records and impressive communication abilities.
- Confidence, self-motivation, a team-player mindset, the ability to assume immediate responsibility for matters in an active practice, and a strong interest in joining our team!
