Department Profile Professionals within Legal and Compliance provide a wide range of services to our business units. They might help to structure a complex and sensitive cross-border transaction; advise on a new product introduction; develop a training program or defuse an investor dispute. They preserve the firm’s invaluable reputation for integrity and protect the firm from sanctions with policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements around the world. They also strive to maintain cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers and the regulatory and self-regulatory agencies that govern the firm’s businesses.
Morgan Stanley is seeking a coverage attorney within the institutional securities (investment banking and global capital markets) legal group, focusing on municipal advisory and debt capital markets transactions across the municipal securities and public finance markets. Knowledge of the U.S. securities laws, and related rules and regulations, in particular with a focus on Rule 15c2-12, Dodd-Frank Municipal Advisor Rule and MSRB regulations, required. Experience with state and municipal request for proposal response drafting, underwriting and other public finance/municipal securities documentation. In addition, attorney will advise on disclosure, execution, risk, policy and commitment committee matters, as well as work on other related projects.
