Department Overview: Information and Cyber Security (ICS) is part of Wells Fargo's Technology organization. Wells Fargo views ICS as enabling lines of business to mitigate information security risk in accordance with our risk appetite. Through a framework that addresses policy, process, operations, people, and technology, Information & Cyber Security team (ICS) protects our infrastructure, company data, and customer assets while ensuring alignment with applicable regulations and laws.
Information Protection Engineering (IPE) strategy is to provide a common and reusable suite of authentication and encryption services and methodologies to internal partners and external Wells Fargo customers. IPE is part of Wells Fargo's Information and Cyber Security (ICS) organization. The IPE team has an Engineering Manager position available. The selected candidate will join a diverse, motivated and experienced team responsible for leading and managing a team of individual contributor engineers to deliver the engineering and support activities for IPE Infrastructure and ensure high quality of delivery. Lead the employees using performance management which includes objective setting, continuous feedback, coaching, mentoring, and employee recognition and creating development plans. This role requires a strong understanding and technical knowledge of data protection technologies like server/database/endpoint/cloud encryption solutions and public key infrastructure/encryption key management, Cryptography, and information security.
Lead an engineering team responsible for the delivery of engineering and support activities of IPE infrastructure.
Partner with product owners to drive business outcomes.
Understands and ensures compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met.
Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities
Ensure that key areas of technology/operational risks including security, stability, and scalability are addressed in engineered/supported products.
Interface with third party vendors and technology service providers for actionable short and long-term product roadmaps and shaping prioritized features.
Lead the employees using performance management which includes objective setting, continuous feedback, coaching, mentoring, and employee recognition and creating development plans.
Lead, mentor and guide the professional and technical development of junior to senior engineers and/or lower level engineering managers.
Attract, assist in hiring and retaining top engineering talent.
May engage in external communities and meetups to support recruiting and development.
Lead process improvements and operation efficiencies to meet business objectives
Market Skills and Certifications
Overall 11+ years of experience and ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed environment
5+ years of experience in service delivery of data protection technologies comprises of server encryption, database encryption, storage encryption, cloud gateway encryption, end-point encryption, and Public Key infrastructure/encryption key management solutions
5+ years of Information Security experience
2+ years of strategic planning in a technology environment
2+ years leadership or people management experience in a Technology environment
Strongly knowledge and understanding of cryptography, key management and data protection technologies
Expertise in global service delivery in information security domain
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and program management skills
Effective verbal, presentation, written and interpersonal communication skills
Good negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills
Industry certification like CISSP, CISM, CRISC in good standing
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Engineering/Technology or Management disciplines.
Knowledge and understanding of various encryption technologies, encryption key management and other data/information protection technologies.
Advanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policies
Must be organized and have rigorous attention to detail.
