Corporate & Investment Banking Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), led by Jon Weiss, is a global business delivering a comprehensive suite of traditional banking solutions including credit, treasury management and payments, and capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. The Control Executive for CIB, Mary Lou Peters, has a business-aligned Control team that will closely partner with Operations Control for all aspects of the CIB business, including Securities Operations that support Wells Fargo Securities (WFS LLC) and regional broker dealers, derivative operations that support its Swap Dealer (WFBNA) including regional branches, and its Global Payments Services, Mortgage Servicing, FCM, and Prime Services businesses.
Specific responsibilities include:
Directly responsible for managing key elements of CIB Control deliverables to design, oversee the build and operationalize new frontline capabilities.
Supporting efforts to build frontline control and conduct framework
Ensuring that CIB risk measurement, ERIA and RCSA reporting and metrics are aligned to the primary supervisory framework building in the required connectivity and workflow, aligning the data strategy and integrating into our governance and regulatory reporting
The Candidate Successful candidates will be articulate and possess a demonstrated leadership capability with strong relationship management, influencing, vision and execution skills; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness and with regard to their accomplishments. Leadership, integrity, and credibility will be determining factors in selection. A key differentiator will be the ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex, heavily matrixed corporate environment. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results and personal accountability for achievement.
While this position will be an individual contributor the responsibility will require the individual to influence the framework, ensure conformance to standards and manage the execution of a global adoption of an entire new frontline supervisory framework.
This is an individual that will have significant independent responsibilities and will need to operate fairly autonomously. Leading and making decisions.
10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Knowledge and understanding of financial services risk management
Experience articulating issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access) skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Other Desired Qualifications
10 years of experience in finance and risk management
In-depth working knowledge of risk management processes, including issue management
In-depth working knowledge of complex capital markets businesses
Significant understanding of FINRA, Swap Dealer and Senior Mgr Regime supervisory structures
Detailed understanding of technology architecture including market abuse and knowledge of time series databases.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
