Enterprise Functions Technology is responsible for supporting enterprise technology initiatives related to messaging and collaboration, risk technology, corporate systems data, and various internal systems and tools. Our services include support for database administration, data warehousing, email, Intranet, system development tools, HR systems, and General Ledger systems.
About the Role
: Risk & Finance Core Services is a horizontal function within EFT (EDT) organization and is responsible for delivering data consistently across Risk & Finance. This Applications System Engineer – Data will support the Regulatory Reporting technology delivery within ERFT Core Services by maintaining a critical data model leveraged by the Finance and Risk organizations. The candidate will leverage standard data modeling tools, such as ERwin, to track and analyze changes to the vendor data model and Wells Fargo developed model extensions. The candidate will work as an individual contributor within a matrixed technology organization.
Leverage ERWin to track and analyze changes to the Oracle Financial Services Data Foundation (FSDF) data model implemented as part of the Enterprise One Number (eONE) program
Partner with subject matter experts to publish model change impacts across various programs
Participate in Agile/Scrum teams focused on data model extensions and customizations
Create, Maintain and Communicate Conceptual Model – on a need basis.
Create, Maintain and Communicate Logical Model – on a need basis.
Recommend Industry Standard Dimensional and Relational Modeling Practices.
Provide Erwin XML input to Metadata Team.
Create, Maintain and Communicate Physical Model. Validate Object syntax as necessary.
Work with System Architect and Data Owners to Identify, and drive adoption of Conformed Data Structures across Enterprise Risk and Finance functions
Explore possibilities of reusing existing Domain Objects and Design Patterns to encourage Uniformity, Extensibility and Reusability.
Review Design deliverables with Enterprise Architects to reduce implementation risk.
Focus on simplifying data design landscape by looking for opportunities in data conformance, reusability and standardization.
Periodical evaluation and analysis of existing Data Model to drive usage efficiency, performance and possible design modifications.
Promote a balance between Standardization and Flexibility of Data Design Solutions to drive cost efficiency and Design Simplicity.
Able to adapt design deliverables for both Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.
10+ years of application development and implementation experience
10+ years of relational database experience.
7+ years of data modeling experience
3+ years of Erwin experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
5+ years of Erwin experience
3+ years of Oracle experience
Knowledge and understanding of Oracle Financial Services Analytical Applications (OFSAA) Financial Service Data Foundation (FSDF)
Knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts, querying, data warehousing, ETL process, requirements gathering and/or decision support tools
