Department Overview: The Data & Analytics team's mission in Cybersecurity Defense and Monitoring is to improve Wells Fargo's security posture by providing ongoing monitoring of selected information security controls so there is appropriate awareness to control effectiveness and trends, and to support the coordination and prioritization of remediation activities:
Provide assurance that our controls are current, implemented as designed, and operating as intended
Deliver quality monitoring and actionable reporting services that provide clear visibility of our security health for infrastructure related security controls
Increase awareness to control gaps and weaknesses, and support ongoing remediation
About the Role:
This role is of a senior team member working in the Data & Analytics team within the Information & Cyber Security LoB. This highly skilled administrator will provide senior level administrative functions for Hadoop clusters on Red Hat Linux. Responsibilities would include installing, upgrading, securing and maintaining Big Data Hadoop clusters. This role requires extensive familiarity with Linux systems and servers and may involve a high level of risk assessment and user support. Should possess deep knowledge of TCP/IP and networking concepts and possess extensive troubleshooting experience in a Linux environment.
Install , upgrade, secure and maintain Big Data Hadoop clusters
Examine error logs, system performance data, and user information to ensure a high level of usability and reliability
Maintain system security, resolve and remediate security vulnerabilities, ensuring that all systems remain in compliance with enterprise standards
Monitor system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes by examining traffic logs and reports and resolving potential issues or recurring problems within the system
Support the needs of application developers and the entire application lifecycle through production
Transform manual workloads into streamlined processes and procedures
Partner with development team to set up code deployment processes
Communicating security issues to internal key stakeholders that may include technical teams, executives and risk groups
Ability to adapt to working in a complex and dynamic environment
Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business partners both regionally and globally
Mentor and guide the junior team members in troubleshooting and resolving issues
Market Skills and Certifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering and/or other related discipline or equivalent experience
7+ years supporting Hadoop clusters including installation, upgrade and configuration management
5+ years of experience in shell scripting, with a proven ability to automate tasks
3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux/UNIX administration
Ability to work in a complex environment without formal procedures or run books
Experience in supporting servers and networking hardware with proven troubleshooting skills
Strong working knowledge of Linux security and networking
Ability to create documentation, technical procedures, network diagrams and user guides
Resolve security vulnerabilities in a timely manner, ensuring that all systems remain in compliance
Support the needs of application developers and the application lifecycle through production
Understanding of risk assessment and risk management
A Hadoop admin certification is a plus!
Previous Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration experience is a plus!
Experience with code repository, build and deployment tools – Gradle, Artifactory, GitHub, uDeploy
Leadership ability to guide junior admins in best practices
Knowledge of agile development methodologies and previous experience of working in an Agile environment
