Market Job Description
The Centralized Logging Systems and Services (CLSS) team is part of the Enterprise Technology Infrastructure group that is responsible for all aspects of the enterprise technology infrastructure, and various applications. CLSS is responsible for the machine generated-log consumption, and making the aggregated data available to the appropriate parties.
This role will support the senior-level Infrastructure Engineering work within the enterprise Splunk environment. The team member will support engineering functions that directly contribute to the capacity and performance of the Splunk environment.
The selected individual must be able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, with constantly evolving needs. Will partner as a technical resource on large-scale (enterprise wide) application/infrastructure delivery initiatives.
– Must have these:
5+ years of Splunk experience, including indexer & search head clusters, deployment servers, cluster masters & high-availability environments
Splunk administration skills in an on-premises, enterprise environment ingesting >2TB daily (ideal candidate will have experience in environments in excess of 10TB or more of daily ingest)
Design and develop an 'end to end' electronic transaction visibility, including large scale processing, integration, and analysis of system logs and databases in Splunk.
A sophisticated understanding of Splunk 'Search' language. A deep understanding of Splunk Dashboards, Reports, Lookup Tables, and
Awareness of the Common Information Model and how to apply it directly and indirectly to data feeds.
Expert-level capabilities with regular expression.
Develop statistical behavior models, and provide support for the development of machine learning approaches.
Develop visualization dashboards and indicators that identify anomalous activities.
Support, maintain, and expand Splunk infrastructure to meet future architecture design and deployment requirements.
Perform basic and advanced scripting tasks with Splunk to automate repeatable processes using Python.
5+ years of UNIX experience
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
Qualifications – establishes candidate as a standout:
Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), including Splunk or Distributed Splunk
Experience with IT Service Intelligence (ITSI) premium product
Other Splunk premium products experience a plus - UBA, Hunk, MLTK, etc.
Experience with continuous development and integration software, including Jenkins or GIT CI
Experience with Agile software development
BS degree or 4 years of experience in a professional work environment with software engineering and development
Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect and Splunk Certified Developer Certifications if any.
Ability to work outside of regular business hours, as needed
