Here's what you can expect as a Corporate Counsel, Commercial Contracts, at DaVita: • Provide legal support and counsel in all matters related to commercial contracting, drafting and negotiating a high volume and broad range of commercial agreements, including purchasing, outsourcing, services, marketing, consulting and IT agreements. • Drive risk mitigation and negotiation strategies for key vendor relationships. Maintain a deep understanding of the business, advising clients on legal risks and assisting in development of creative solutions as a member of the team, not solely as the legal advisor. • Continuous improvement of contracting processes, including creation and/or improvement of toolkits and templates in order to reduce deal cycle times and refine standard contract term. • Participate in projects to drive the adoption of contract automation technologies. • Work collaboratively with a cross-functional group of teams. • Juggle and successfully prioritize competing work streams. • Understand and be able to translate into “plain English” the legal ramifications of varied legal issues (including regulatory requirements) and clearly and succinctly articulate the risks. • Provide valuable advice and counsel within the context of the broader business and enterprise level objectives. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Education: • J.D. Degree with minimum of 3 years of commercial contracting experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in the healthcare industry. • Experience with a nationally-recognized law firm preferred. • A law degree from an ABA-accredited law school and State Bar Admission and good standing. • Proven track record of working with diverse client groups and teams to achieve desired outcome.
