System Senior Physician Executive – Specialty Groups Wausau, Wisconsin
We are seeking a seasoned physician leader who will provide executive leadership and expertise to the Specialty Physicians and Advance Practice Clinicians (APC’s) of Aspirus Medical Group (AMG). The System Senior Physician Executive – Specialty Care will have a dyad relationship to the Vice President – Operations for Specialty Care. Key areas of focus include:
Overall patient experience
Strategic planning in partnership with the System Chief Medical Officer.
Overall leadership to Specialty Care Physicians and APC’s across the system.
Enhancing care delivery models across the system.
This position must be seen as a highly credible leader with a high level of trust by the medical staff and diplomat.
Role will include a clinical component approximately 4-8 hours per week.

MD / DO; AND
MBA, MMM, MPH or related field, or comparable experience in lieu of a formal administrative degree.
A minimum of seven years’ experience in the practice of medicine (post-residency/ fellowship), direct patient care and demonstrated skills and experience in clinical and administrative leadership through activities including, but not limited to, advanced healthcare administration course work, service as a medical staff officer, or program medical director.
A minimum of three years’ (five year’s’ preferred) experience at a senior level managing physician practices and preferably healthcare system physician group practices with a sizable employed physician base, clinical integration, and board management responsibility preferred. Experience working in physician-led, integrated healthcare delivery organization a plus.
Experience as successful influencer who can interact effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders such as other physicians, healthcare administration, and staff.
Is licensed or can be by the State of Wisconsin to practice medicine.
Board certified in field of specialty required.
Meets all other bylaws and policy requirements pertaining to physicians.
