The University Chief Compliance Officer and Enterprise Risk Manager (CCO/ERM) is charged with directing and coordinating the elements of an effective organizational compliance and enterprise risk management program. The individual in this position will be expected to provide independent expertise and advice related to issues of compliance to a broad range of offices across campus including, but not limited to, policy review and development and oversee the University policy manual. In addition, the CCO/ERM will work to (1) identify possible risks related to strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial management, operational requirements, along with any associated reputational risks, and (2) manage such risks in a manner consistent with NC A&T's mission and strategic plan. The CCO/ERM will supervise and provide oversight the the University’s Title IX compliance efforts and will supervise Title IX staff.

The Office of Legal Affairs supports NC A&T State University in its endeavors to achieve its academic mission and institutional plan while adhering to the University's ethical, legal, and regulatory responsibilities.

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school, and three (3) or more years of legal, regulatory and/or compliance experience. with a minimum of three years of relevant experience
Five (5) or more years of legal, regulatory and/or compliance experience; Experience in enterprise risk management/internal controls at a large research university and a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; Advanced certifications in relevant compliance areas or significant and applicable experience in higher education or industry; demonstrated knowledge and understanding of emerging trends and regulatory requirements that may include areas like the Federal Sentencing Guidelines model, environmental health & safety, FERPA, Title IX, Clery Act, ADA, employment and hiring compliance, federal and state privacy issues, IT security and privacy issues and compliance, research compliance, and financial aid. Strong aptitude for working with technology and experience in database management.
