This position will provide research support to the WFCPC with regard to compliance, grant and research project budgeting, study specific responsibilities and administrative assistance to Study PIs and CP Center Director of Research.
A highly organized and enthusiastic research coordinator (RC) is needed to carry out and oversee clinical research studies for the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center. The RC will report to the CP Center Director of Research.
Major duties and responsibilities include:
Research Regulatory Compliance: Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocol write-up and submission, informed consent development, completion of appropriate HIPAA Forms and Data Usage Agreements, submission of renewals, modifications, close-out reports, assuring that studies are being performed in accordance with IRB policies, and maintenance of data and study files.
Supervision of Personnel: On-boarding, management, and evaluation of full-time clinical research assistants, P&S student scholarly projects, NIH research students, and volunteers. Assist in training and development of research study assistants, junior coordinators
Oversee budgets for grants and research projects: Assure sponsor reporting deadlines are met, track grant budgets, maintain knowledge of grant-specific funding policies, work closely with and the Department of Orthopedics Grants Administrator and Post-Awards Administrator.
Providing Administrative Assistance to Study PIs and CP Center Director of Research: Preparation and submission of abstracts, manuscripts for publication, and grants to sponsors, update attendings' CVs and conflict of interest disclosures, ensure research agreements and contracts are execute in collaboration with the Grants Administrator, and serving as the main administrative contact for the research team.
Study-Specific Responsibilities: Subject screening and recruitment, obtainment of informed consent, administration of surveys, assist with data collection, chart reviews, and basic data analysis.
Institute for Genomic Medicine Study Responsibilities: Comprehensive electronic medical record review for subject screening and recruitment, utilizes appropriate methodologies to collect human subject information for research database, oversees the organization, processing and tracking of biological samples, updates tracking systems and oversees data management aspects of research databases
Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience
Proficiency in Windows operating systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA Rules and Regulations, NIH Guidelines, ICH Guidelines and HIPAA and IRB Regulations in relation to Clinical Research
Willing to work some evenings and weekend hours
Highly organized with attention to detail
Capable of prioritizing and managing multiple projects at once
Ability to set and meet deadlines
Ability to lead and supervise several full-time and part-time research fellows, students, and volunteers
ACRP Clinical Research Coordinator Certification
Experience with managing large data sets
Experience with Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) and Epic
Experience working with persons with cerebral palsy and/or disabilities
