The Department of Management invites applications for the Chair of Excellence in Free Enterprise Management, effective Spring or Fall 2020, pending available funding. Rank is at the level of Associate Professor or Professor in Management. Candidates with specialization in OB/HR or strategic management will be considered; primary research interests in topics such as workplace diversity and inclusion, discrimination, and bias or board/leadership diversity and corporate ethics/misconduct will be given preference. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting doctoral seminars, mentoring doctoral students and faculty, maintaining a strong research program, procuring external research funding (grants and contracts), building connections with the business and academic community, and fulfilling professional and University service duties.
Applicants should have an earned doctorate in management or closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution. The successful candidate will have (a) an outstanding research record as demonstrated by publications in leading management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Organization, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Corporate Governance: An International Review etc.; (b) a research program that addresses influences and consequences of diversity and inclusion at micro and/or macro levels; (c) an interest in teaching doctoral seminars; (d) the capability to mentor doctoral students and faculty; (e) demonstrated experience in obtaining external research funding and the ability to provide leadership in obtaining external funding; (f) the desire and ability to build connections with the business and academic community; and (g) professional experience appropriate to this senior appointment.
