The Office of Legal Affairs represents NKU in litigation matters, administrative proceedings and significant commercial transactions in a manner that supports student success and the mission of the university.
Primary Responsibilities :
The Staff Attorney is responsible for:
Research and draft memorandum on legal issues;
Review and revise contracts and other legal documents;
Respond to Open Records and Open Meeting Requests;
Review and revise university policies and procedures;
Participate in meetings involving legal issues of the university;
Respond to complaints, subpoenas or other legal actions taken against NKU;
Assist in discovery requests, depositions and other litigation matters;
Respond, with guidance, to legal inquiries from various faculty and staff.
JD from an accredited law school with a minimum one year of experience and eligible for admission to Kentucky Bar.
Experience working in a higher education environment preferred. Technical skills sufficient to comply with the requirement of E-discovery, document production and legal research and writing are required.
