The Events Manager and Board Liaison is a highly visible role with the primary responsibility of implementing all fundraising, donor cultivation and stewardship events including the annual Become Exceptional Luncheon which is the BC Foundation's largest annual fundraiser with over 500 community leaders in attendance and annual fundraising goal of $350,000-$400,000. The Events Manager and Board Liaison will also provide strategic support to the Director of Development, Executive Director, and Board of Directors with individual donor and corporate partner management. As the Board Liaison, this position is responsible for coordinating all logistics related to hosting and planning bi-monthly meetings of the Foundation Board of Directors and the annual Foundation Board Retreat. The Events Manager and Board Liaison will also support the Director of Development and Executive Director with board management and the on-boarding process of new board members.
This is a full time permanent position in the BC Foundation. This position is exempt from overtime and relocation allowance.
Essential Functions/Typical Duties
Manage budget, event timelines, catering, audio visual, photographer, and all additional vendors; Secure event speakers, emcee, entertainment, and volunteers.
Negotiate contracts with venues and vendors
Oversee and provide content for all graphic design and print needs
Draft program show flow and speaker scripts
Supervise on-site staff support, volunteers, and vendors
Work with and support the Director of Development, Executive Director, and volunteer Luncheon Committee for the annual Luncheon.
Secure sponsorships by writing appeals and supporting materials and managing sponsor relationships by monitoring levels and benefits and ensuring sponsor recognition is carried out at event
Hire and supervise work study students.
Assist with the coordination of logistics for cross-division events such as groundbreaking ceremonies, grand opening events, open houses, etc.
Assist and coordinate with Director of Development in creating meeting materials for the Development and Luncheon Committee meetings.
Assist the Executive Director in supporting the Directors Committee.
Support Executive Director in scheduling one-on-one meeting with Board Members.
Support the Director of Development, Executive Director, and Directors Committee Chair with board management and the on-boarding process of new board members
Coordinate with BC Food services to schedule meeting space, room set up, and catering for prospective Board Member visits and tours.
Performs related duties as required
Bachelor's degree from accredited institution
Four to five years of successful development/communications/events management experience
Demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing fundraising and event goals
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, to set priorities, and to follow through on projects
Effective communication and organizational skills
Experience recruiting, managing, and working with volunteers
Effective interpersonal skills and professional demeanor; ability to create productive work relationships with a broad spectrum of individuals both inside and outside of the College
Experience working in a collaborative environment with diverse employees and customer/client groups
Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; databases and donor management software, preferably Raiser's Edge
Ability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed
Knowledge of and commitment to the mission, goals and objectives of the Bellevue College
